Wolf's Howl is the first volume in the paranormal fantasy series Clan Lore by Teddy Alford and Kevin Augustine. It's the story of four young warriors: Talon, Prowl, Darkmane, and Brohm who are seeking personal growth and training for their own unique motivations, including retribution, self-awareness, and struggle. Master Frost is all set to train these fighters until they crack or figure out how to work as a team to survive themselves and save their worlds. Greystone City is a place where authority is usurped rather than granted. Here, countless young fighters have arrived in search of power, only to depart defeated and broken. Can these youthful fighters overcome their own apprehensions, anxieties, fury, and hatred to confront their adversaries? Or will they not even have an opportunity to escape alive from Greystone City?
Wolf's Howl primarily focuses on the struggles of the four protagonists to get over their personal shortcomings and past traumas. This is a fantastic story about finding relatives and getting over prejudices. I loved how the authors have sketched the characters of the four young warriors. Their characters bloom magnificently. The setting of the novel is very unique and authentic. The magic system is intriguing. I really enjoyed how the author outlined the advantages and disadvantages of the various clans according to their kind of 'chi', which is basically magic. I loved how the authors weaved cultural elements so subtly. The language is easy and conversational. The pace of the book is very fast. Easy-to-understand writing style and an interesting plot make this book a page-turner. I don't mind much that the book ends on a cliffhanger because I am definitely going to pick up the next in the series. Overall, Wolf's Howl is a terrific start in the Clan Lore series that can be a treat to all fantasy lovers.
