Same as Ever by Morgan Housel provides twenty three short stories that remind us that the world is constantly changing but certain things never change. The book shows how changes are unpredictable and uncontrollable. But, to be successful, we should be focusing on what we can control and ignore what we can't. It also describes that if one does not know history, one cannot know the present or the future. It defines Risk as something which one does not see coming.

Housel provides the master key to happiness, that is having low expectations. He talks about how people always crave certainty, no matter how false it may be. Housel with the master storytelling style shows how one person may excel in one area while failing miserably in another. He further describes that narratives hold greater power than any logic or information. Housel shows how stress can be used constructively during uncertain times. While disasters strike without warning, progress happens gradually. He adds how one should always allow for error in all of the endeavours. The author talks about the importance of compounding. Over time, compounding can make little things become enormous. He adds that pain is unavoidable and anything worthwhile needs time to develop. He announces that how experiences are greater than anything else available. The final advice the author offers that can benefit us all is, invest like an optimist and save like a pessimist.
Same as Ever is a must-read for anyone who wants to make better decisions about their lives. It acts as a reminder that the future is uncertain, but that there are certain things that we can always count on.
