Linden Falls by Joshua Hershey Book Review

Do you enjoy books with gods, demons, and monsters? What about a book in which a young witch battles with the evil and discovers herself along the course of her life. Well if these are your preferences then Linden Falls by Joshua Hershey is perfect for you. So, without further ado I am going to start. If you don't want to read the entire articles then watch the short video that sums up everything in detail. Otherwise, please continue reading.

Mabel is a witch whose kingdom now belongs to Lavian, the Serpent. Her people are held captive in Darkness. Twist comes when Mabel finds a book that takes her to an angelic and demonic realm. Mabel goes out to help her people without realising she would encounter Eva along the way—that mystic woman who had been lost in time—and discover herself as a result. Even when Mabel discovers how to dispel the Darkness, Lavian has other ideas. Mabel wants to free her people, reconcile with her past, and begin a new life. She aspires to be a fighter and a defender of the people she loves. What happens next, I am not gonna tell and spoil the fun for you. To know more, read the book.
Now coming to my thoughts on the book. The epic fantasy book Linden Falls is a coming-of-age tale about a witch who becomes strong enough to take her place in a long-ago conflict between gods. Following each significant battle, Mabel is taught crucial philosophies of life. This pattern leads to the intense final battle, during which Mabel must consider her family, her future, and the effects of her choices. The book has a biblical tone. There are ample amount of biblical reference. It has a J.R.R. Tolkien vibes. As it's a epic Christian fantasy, world building is a crucial part. Author has also done justice in this regards. World building is quite good. The author has developed the characters beautifully so the readers can relate to them. The writing style is straightforward but prose quality is elegant. The plot has enough thrill. The author handles the twists and turns beautifully. I love how the author embeds philosophies throughout the plot. Overall, Linden Falls is a philosophical epic fantasy read that has enough suspense to keep you hooked from the first page till the end.
